So, pastor, you’ve been wanting to do it for a long, long time. You know it will help your ministry, enhance your preaching, and be an encouragement. So far, though, you haven’t gotten around to going. Here’s a little encouragement to pastors, preachers, church administrators, and other ministry personnel:  go to a conference sometime in the next year. Here are a couple suggestions from Sharefaith. You’ve got plenty of time to register, pack your bags, and invite some pastor buddies.

Here are just three suggestions that you can begin planning for next year. We’ll let you know about other good conferences from time to time.

Shepherd’s Conference

March 9-13 2011

Sun Valley, California

$300

Hosted by Grace Community Church and John MacArthur, the Shepherd’s Conference has as their mission, “to provide the opportunity for men in church leadership to be challenged in their commitment to biblical ministry and to find encouragement.” Encouragement you will find, as gifted undershepherds teach on critical topics in pastoral ministry. Richard Mayhue discusses “the unintended repercussions of misunderstanding the rapture.” “Liberty vs. legalism in the local church” is the subject of Carey Hardy’s session. Even the touchy and controversial issues of homosexuality and divorce are discussed at the Shepherd’s Conference in 2011.

The Gospel Coalition

April 12-14, 2011

Chicago, Illinois

$200 (early bird registration before October, 2010)

With speakers such as Al Mohler, Matt Chandler, Bryan Chapell, Mark Dever, Tim Keller, and Mark Driscoll–it’s impossible to have a lackluster conference. Next year’s conference is stacked with a heavy-hitting lineup and a list of fascinating topics. The theme is “They Testify About Me:  Preaching Jesus and the Gospel from the Old Testament.” Join several thousand gospel ministers to learn, worship, and be encouraged.

For Women…

True Woman

Indianapolis, Indiana:  September 23-25, 2010

Fort Worth, Texas:  October 14-16, 2010

It’s not just for ministry women. It’s for any one who wants to deepen their faith and grow their relationship with Christ. Joni Eareckson Tada, Nancy Leigh DeMoss, Kay Arthur, and others are speaking at the True Woman conferences this year. By the way, if you’re a senior pastor’s wife, your admission is free.

Note: Please be informed that Sharefaith does not give carte blanche endorsement of these conferences. If you’re looking for a conference that tells you how to use church media, you don’t have to travel any farther than your office chair. Check out the helpful video training series we have here.
