Kids love Valentine’s Day! Why? They love exchanging Valentine’s Day cards at school and church and stocking up on (hopefully) enough candy to last them until Easter. But are we missing a chance to teach our children about love? In today’s culture, the world says that love is a feeling that we quickly fall in and out of. And that if we don’t feel it, it must not be real. While there may be some truth to world’s definition of “love”, this does not match up to what the Word of God has to say about it. As shown in this Valentine’s Day video for kids church, 1 John 4:19 says, “Our love for others is our grateful response to the love God first demonstrated to us.” (The Passion Translation). Use this Valentine’s Day Video to help teach your children that we are called to love others, even when it’s hard to, because God first loved us. And while it may be messy, require patience and focus, our love for others is a representation of the love of Jesus Christ our Lord, King and Savior!
