Sharefaith Music Spotlight is back! In this revamped rendition of this music series, we will be looking at Christian albums that we’re listening to, new and old. This will be a compilation of old Christian classics, new releases, trending titles and even some underground/unheard of artists. In today’s music spotlight, we will be featuring two new 2015 albums by Daniel Bashta and John Mark McMillan’s new album with his wife, Sarah.
Daniel Bashta – For Every Curse
Release Date: April 20th, 2015
Daniel Bashta is known for his singing/songwriting skills with such popular titles as “Like a Lion”, which was made famous by the Newsboys rendition, renamed “God’s Not Dead”. His newest album fits his style with slower rhythms and a modern hymn-like feel. The album starts off with the “Hallelujah Chorus” and then rolls into his rendition of “Seas Of Crimson” by Bethel Music, (check out the video). “Praise the Lord” is a beautiful song, featuring an incredible instrumental intro that leads into a powerful chorus with multiple singers. The rest of the album picks up in speed then slows back down with a duet on “I Will Sing” before finishing off with his well-known song, “Praise the Invisible”. For Every Curse is currently only $5.99 on iTunes.
John Mark McMillan & Sarah McMillan – You are the Avalanche
Release Date: June 23rd, 2015
John Mark McMillan partnered with his wife, Sarah McMillan, for their new EP which features five powerful & emotional worship tracks. The album starts off with “The Goodness”, which is a great song about the goodness of God and then transitions into “Walk Around My House” & “King of My Heart”. Both tracks feature Sarah with John Mark providing backup vocals on “King of My Heart”. The next track, “Heart Won’t Stop” (check out the video) reminds us that regardless of the situation we are in, or what we are facing, God’s Heart will not stop coming after us! The EP ends with “Glorious Things” with heavy bass and crazy kick drums. Each song is written as an anthem or declaration of God’s goodness and love for us! These five tracks have been playing nonstop, either at work, in my car or at home. When you purchase the album, you will see what I mean, firsthand. I go back and forth with what my favorite track is. At the moment, this is by far my favorite album of 2015. You Are The Avalanche is available on iTunes for $5.99.
