Here is a community service idea for your harvest celebration this year: Have your families “trick or treat” for your local food bank. In the days leading up to Halloween, your church families can leave bags with their neighbors to be filled with non-perishable food for your local food bank or shelter. Since Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, the bags can be picked up during the day and brought to the Church either on Saturday or Sunday. Also, you can leave an invite to your Church’s Harvest Festival if you have one or just invite them to Church if you don’t. Start planning and promoting this now to get people excited about this fun way to turn Halloween into a day that serves your community.
