While King Saul lacked faith and confidence in the Lord, his son, Jonathan, and Jonathan's armor bearer trusted God and in 1 Samuel 14, the Bible says that they fought against the enemy Philistine army on their own and prevailed. Even though the Philistines appeared to have the upper hand from a human standpoint, Jonathan knew that if the Lord fought with him, then the odds didn't matter.
