- Prodigal Son
The story of the Prodigal Son is well known in Christian churches and is found in Luke 15:11-32. In it, Jesus tells the story of a man who has two sons, with the younger one demanding his inheritance and going to another country where he squanders it with rioutous living. When this son has reached his bottom and chooses to change his ways, he returns home humbled, discovering that his father received him with open arms and a kiss on the neck, followed by gifts and a feast. This story is often used in Christian recovery programs and provides spiritual understanding of how disobedience and rebellion is sin and can bring people to the dark night of their souls. This story is also one of hope, forgiveness and restoration.
