Joseph appears with a staff in his "Coat of Many Colors," given to him by his father. As the youngest son of Isaac, Joseph was the favored child and was deeply envied by his many brothers. As a young boy, Joseph had a dream that he would rule over his brothers. When he shared it with them, their bitterness and jealousy grew. Later, the brothers sold him to slavery and he ended up in prison. But nothing could keep Joseph from succeeding because God was with him.
