<\/a>History of Easter Eggs<\/b>
Eggs are a symbol of new life. Since Easter is a celebration of Jesus\u2019 resurrection to life, eggs are seen as an appropriate way to commemorate this event. Others suggest that the eggshell represents the tomb in which Jesus was laid. Orthodox Christians at Easter time often dye eggs red as a symbol of the Jesus\u2019 blood. <\/p>\n

The use of eggs as a symbol of life and fertility wasn\u2019t unique to Christians. It is possible that the pagan religions used eggs in their celebrations of Spring. When they converted to Christianity, some of these same traditions may have been introduced in Christian events.<\/p>\n

Now, Easter is nearly synonymous with eggs. There are Easter egg hunts, egg decorating, egg tapping contests, egg dumping games, Pocking Eggs traditions, egg rolling games, egg dance events, and Pace Egg plays.
