The parable of the wise and foolish virgins can be found in the book of Matthew. It talks about 10 virgins who waited for their bridegroom to come. Five were foolish and ran out of lamp oil. The others were well prepared and ready when he arrived. This is actually a charge given to the church. Christians need to be prepared for the second coming of Christ. The oil represents the Holy Spirit.
