Satan and his demonic forces are in constant battle mode, determined to thwart the purposes of the Living God (Matthew 4:1-11). His home is Hell (Matthew 25:41), his battleground is an unseen-to-the-human-eye realm of Earth (Ephesians 6:12), his targets for destruction are the sons and daughters of Adam; the children of God (1Peter 5:8). Satan gained his place of power on earth when Adam and Eve sinned (Genesis 3:1-21). And although his reign is inevitably and eventually doomed (Revelations 12:12), his power to wreak havoc continues as long as there is sinful human nature (Romans 7:18-25).
There is forgiveness of sin by faith because of the Cross and because of the Blood of the Lamb (Romans 10:9. there is also eternal life to look forward to (John 14:2; Revelations 21:4), but on earth the spiritual battle continues (Ephesians 6:10-18) and the laws of sowing and reaping continually apply (Galatians 6:7). An inherent sinful nature (Romans 5:12) and the sins of ancestors plague the human existence (Exodus 34:7). The sinful choices of others color circumstances. Sickness, poverty, disappointment and death (1Corinthians 15:26) are all ongoing byproducts of sin. Temptation to give in to the disillusion of sin is everywhere.
How does one fight to win against such an adversary?
By the Truth!
Satan, who is the father of lies (John 8:44), cannot stand against the Truth; cannot win against the Word of God (Revelations 12:9-11).
By the Light!
The devil and the demons of darkness will not thrive in the Light. Instead, they will flee from the Light.(1Thesselonians 5:5; Ephesians 1:18; John 12:46).
Speak forth the Truth, live in the Light - The Word of God promises victory. “Greater is He (God; the Truth (John 14:6); the Light (John 8:12)) that is in us(believers) than he (Satan) that is in the world.“ (1John 4:4).
