Theme of The Week – White Space

White Space is the areas of your design that does not carry text, images or elements of communication. The white space is as important to your design as the content. Effective use will draw the attention of the reader or user to the most important content. Using too little white space will make the page or screen look over crowded and confusing. Too much white space will make the design seem sparse and ineffective. Balance is the key here.

Take a look at the new Sharefaith Newsletter Templates to get a good gauge on how much is enough when it comes to white space.

Tip of The Week – Small Group Leader’s Breakfast

If you have a Small Group or Growth Group program in your Church, it’s easy for the leaders to get burnt out and disconnected. A great way to show appreciation for their time and to get and give valuable input into their leadership is to get together for a meal once a quarter. Plan a breakfast or lunch and bring all the group leaders together to share tips, concerns and to pray for the small groups as a team. It will help connect them and could give you important insight in to what is happening out in the field.

Christian Holidays On Sharefaith

Sharefaith has an extensive list of Christian Holiday articles in the Spread The Word inspirational guide for Christian Churches. From Advent to the Wise Men of the Nativity, there are 67 articles in all to give you an overview of each holiday on the Christian calendar.

Here’s an excerpt from the article on the Feast of the Transfiguration coming up on August 6th:

The Feast of the Transfiguration, on August 6th, is an annual celebration observed by Catholic, Anglican, and some Protestant ministries in Western Christianity. It commemorates what many consider to be the highest point of Jesus’ earthly life, when he was “transfigured” by a brilliant white light at the top of a mountain and proclaimed to be the well-loved Son of God from a heavenly voice.

The Origins of the Feast
The Feast of the Transfiguration is held to have been founded by Saint Gregory the Illuminator, some time in the early third century, AD. It is said that the Feast took the place of an earlier pagan ritual known as “roseflame”, as Christ’s transfiguration was also similar to a flaming rose. The Feast was relatively slow to be adopted by the majority of churches, though most took up the practice by the 15th century.

Sharefaith also has images, clipart and designs for all the Christian Holidays.
